Greetings Argyle Students and Families!
My name is James McNair and the 2015-2016 school year marks my 6th year at Argyle Intermediate School. I teach the 6th grade euphonium (baritone) class, the 6th grade trombone class, and all 5th grade music classes. I also assist with the State Champion Argyle High School marching band!
If you'd like to learn a little more about me, click on the "Documents" tab and open the "Meet Mr. McNair" page.
Be sure and check my website regularly for updates, announcements, and an updated performance calendar! Maybe I'll see you at one of my concerts or shows sometime!
I have some big performances coming up!
On Friday, March 4, I am playing with Imperial Brass and we are being featured on the WFAA (Channel 8) Morning Show! Tune in and see me on TV performing with the premier brass ensemble in the DFW area.
On Sunday, March 6, I will be performing again with the Imperial Brass at First United Methodist Church in Dallas. The show starts at 7 p.m. and will feature trumpeter Ryan Anthony of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra! We will be playing "The Planets" by Gustav Holst! Visit www.imperialbrass.com for more information.
On Tuesday, March 22, I will be performing with the Dallas Winds at the Meyerson Symphony Center at 7:30 p.m. Composer Eric Whitacre will be conducting the program featuring his own compositions including "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas!" You will NOT want to miss this one!!! Visit www.dws.org for more details.
I update my professional performance calendar regularly in case you are interested in attending any of them. I perform with the East Texas Symphony, the Dallas Winds, the Lewisville Symphony, the Plano Symphony, and the Dallas Opera fairly regularly.
I also play regularly with the Chris Watson Band. http://www.chriswatsonband.com/
Our new album is available on iTunes and is entitled "Black, White, and Gray."

Please send me an email JMcNair@argyleisd.com if you would like more details about any of my performances or if you have any questions about what we are doing in class. I float between the MS/HS and two classrooms here at AIS so it is very difficult to reach me on the phone. I try to respond to all email within 24 hours.
